This is historical news Simon bill was signed by Gov. Cuomo yesterday.
I’m so proud over accomplishment she’s been my mentor for many years and served on our advisory board member before she became assemblywoman. LDRFA .org Took a very active role in advocating for this bill including advocating with the commissioner of disability. This will improve many students lives in the future.

Message from Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon

Dear Friends,

I am thrilled to tell you that Governor Cuomo has signed my dyslexia bill into law! This dyslexia legislation will improve the lives of thousands of students. My sincere thanks to the parents, students, teachers, schools, advocates and most importantly to all of the dyslexic individuals who have worked tirelessly to improve understanding of dyslexia and related learning disabilities.

This legislation will help more children learn to read and be successful students because when children’s learning disabilities are clearly defined, educational interventions can be tailored to meet their needs.

Thanks to all of you who advocated for this bill and who contacted the Governor in support of the bill. You can see my interview, along with Marcus Soutra, on Wednesday night at 8pm on “CapitalTonight” with Liz Benjamin.
